I have only been on the highway 30 minutes but I feel like getting out of the car and looking at the beautiful sky and morning sun. I pull into the rest stop and step out in one easy move. I feel so strong, powerful and flexible. The effortess stride of my walk is flawless as I head into the rest stop building that is prettier than a lot of houses.
Inside, I see many people wobbling and limping with their minor aches, pains and bodily misalignments caused by their gut and butt from hell. Office type business men with their tucked in shirts that only reveal their ponderous girth even more. They are standing in the Dunkin Donuts line because Lord knows that they need another donut. Then there are the older retired folk who, as my dad would put it, look like they have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. Some of these older couples cling onto each other tightly as they walk over the curb, like in a three legged race, because if they let go of their support, they might just fall and break a hip.
With my cup of water, I head back to my car, feeling like the energies of the universe are crackling through my veins. Super heroes may not actually exist in real life. But at that point in time, I felt as close to being one as a mere mortal can feel. I stood there and absorbed the power of the sun.
And all because I do the exercises required by the laws of human biology and I eat the foods that defeat frailty. **Mostly
